Brief
description and purpose of study
The purpose of this study
is to uncover the short-term and long-term (over ten weeks) effects
of drinking Celsius, an energy drink (10 Calories), daily. We
are examining the outcomes of drinking Celsius either alone or
in addition to five days a week aerobic and strength training
exercise. Specifically, we are investigating how this energy drink
affects the amount of energy expended (number of calories burned),
body composition (percent body fat), exercise performance, mood
and energy, and lipid profile (cholesterol levels) in healthy
adults 18-45 yrs of age. There will be 2 groups, one who exercises
and one group who does not. You may pick which group you would
like to be in. All participants will drink the Celsius energy
drink or a placebo drink. We will not know who is drinking Celsius
or the placebo until after the study is over.
